Curriculum

FDL is the new educational curriculum of SMA Katolik Santo Fransiskus Assisi that integrates flipped learning with diversified learning to have comprehensive learning. It promotes more comfortable, customized, and meaningful learning, which shapes a syntax of learning, outside and inside classroom activities. The teacher initiates the learning process by conducting a diagnostic assessment to identify the specific needs of the students. They then provide the students with differentiated materials prior to class, allowing them to learn independently and explore additional resources to enhance their understanding. During class, the teacher guides the students based on their individual needs and encourages collaboration with their peers.

Teaching Plan

1. Identifying Learning Objectives

I identified clear learning objectives that outlined what my students should learn by the end of each lesson. For example, instead of saying "improve skills," I specified goals like "understand the main idea the concept." This clarity helped my students know what to focus on and allowed me to check their understanding effectively.

2. Integrating the UST-EHS Approach

I integrated the UST-EHS approach, which emphasized putting students at the center of their learning. I created activities that encouraged my students to share their thoughts and experiences. By asking for their feedback, I was able to see what they enjoyed and how I could make learning more engaging for them.

3. Aligning with Flipped-Differentiated Learning

I aligned my lessons with Flipped-Differentiated Learning, which allowed my students to learn at their own pace. I assigned materials for them to explore at home and used class time for discussions and activities that helped them apply what they learned. By providing different options based on their interests and abilities, I ensured that everyone could participate meaningfully.

4. Incorporating Technology

I incorporated technology to make learning more exciting and interactive. I used tools like online platforms for discussions and apps for group projects like Kahoot, Quizizz or Canva. This approach helped my students collaborate and share ideas in new ways, making the learning experience more dynamic.

5. Developing Assessment Strategies

I developed various assessment strategies to check if my students were learning. I used a mix of methods, such as quizzes, group activities, and presentations, to gauge their understanding. Including self-assessments and peer feedback allowed my students to reflect on their own learning and learn from each other.

6. Fostering Collaborative Learning

I fostered collaborative learning by encouraging my students to work together and share ideas. I created group activities where they could discuss topics and help each other. This approach built their teamwork skills and allowed them to learn from different perspectives.

7. Creating a Supportive Learning Environment

I focused on creating a supportive learning environment where my students felt comfortable. I established a classroom culture that valued respect and inclusivity. By encouraging my students to express their thoughts and celebrating their successes, I helped build their confidence and willingness to participate.
